Friday Fragments :) 3 in a row!

A bit late, but better late than never!!

Here goes a 3rd Friday Fragments! Please join in on the fun with Mrs 4444 and me and start fragmenting! You can either click her name, which goes to her homepage or this pretty button, which will take you to her fragments section :)

~ We saw more fireworks last Saturday at Cowpens National Battlefield! J did great and LOVED all the "boooom"s. I'm so glad he doesnt get scared!

~ We also got to SKYPE with Daddy!!! There's no better way to start, end, whatever with a day than to see my husband's face and hear his voice all at the same time! Pure bliss! I wish I could've taken a picture, but I actually skyped on my phone. I am so very grateful for technology! I was at my mother's-in-law house too, so she got to see her baby boy! It was a great Saturday!

~ So, while I was visiting family in SC, Sherman was at home in NC.... And he kicked the bucket. I thought he might. He was looking awfully sad when I left him. However, we got another fish and we have lovingly named him "BOOM". J can say that, so I figured it was a good fit. And he's kinda blue and red! Very patriotic! LOL

~ So, J has been using the potty lately, but only when prompted by me. And usually after he's already "went" LOL The night we got home from visiting SC, he actually went #2! And then took off running thru the house after he got up... Butt naked! So, I went running, not thinking about cleaning up just yet.... However, I should have! Just because Rigsby (the Yorkie) will walk a mile around his own poop, doesnt mean he'll walk a mile around J's..... He cleaned up for me! I could've KILLED that dog! GRRRRR (Sorry, I know that might be a little TMI!) At least there's no picture! haha

~ I will be attending my very first NASCAR race in October! I am so stoked! I was thinking of surprising the husband with tickets since we've never been to a race together and he has been in the sandbox a while. Then, the day I was talking to my brother about where to sit, Kyle emailed me and asked if we could go to the race! How ironic! haha. So, I suck at surprises and we eventually decided to get tickets, and I got them this week. I am excited!!!

~ J is growing up too fast. He climbed in his high chair all by himself this week! AH. He can also climb in our big garden tub that we usually give him a bath in... NOT good. haha. This was our "photo of the day" for Day 114 :)

~ Yesterday, i just happened to look out in our backyard and saw this! I am so glad I saw it first and not Rigsby. I went and asked a few neighbors if it was theirs, with no luck. But then this morning, he was gone. I'm glad! LOL I am allergic! And taking Rigsby out on a leash in his own yard is no fun! haha

~ And lastly.... WE HAVE A COUNTDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant post it, but the husband will for sure be home for J's 2nd birthday and that's all I wanted!!!! YAY!

Until next week, keep taking each day, one day at a time!!! And make some memories while you're at it!

Friday Fragments, two in a row!!

Happy Fragmenting y'all!

Mommy's Idea

I am joining, for the 2ND WEEK IN A ROW, Mrs. 4444 for her fancy free fragmenting! I hope you will join in on the fun! And just a warning, my fragmenting gets to be kinda long because I'm a talker. And also a SAHM who rarely gets adult conversation, so this is my sort of outlet! LOL Ok, you have been forewarned.... Continue on....

~So, last Saturday night, my 20mo son PEED ON THE POTTY!!! We had been out to see fireworks at a friends house and didnt get in until late. I had planned on pretty much putting him straight to bed, but thought I'd strip him down and see if he'd "use" the potty before that last diaper change and pjs. And Oh. My. GOodness, he really did! I was shocked! And get this, he even "tried" so hard (like straight up straining) that he pooped too! hahahaha. I will spare everyone from the picture I took... But I had to document it because my husband is "in the sandbox" and I wanted him to feel like he was here! haha And my sweet Bug has pottied everyday since, at least once!! Go Josiah go!

~Speaking of the husband, he was able to get access to a PX (Post Exchange- kinda like the military version of a Walmart/department store) for the first time since he's been overseas! I'm sure it's NOT like the actual PX here in the US, but still, it's STUFF that he can buy that he hasnt had access to in 3.5 months. All he needed was laundry soap...... And go figure.... They didnt have any! LOL Poor guy. I told him he should've told me to send some, because I just sent his last box to him! But he said he only does laundry once every 3 weeks so it wasnt really on his mind. LOL

~Josiah and I went to Monkey Joe's for the first time this week. We both had a good time. I was excited that I didnt have to pay anything for myself, and for $5 for a few hours of air conditioned fun, it was worth it! LOL J is still a bit small for almost all the slides, but the little toddler bouncy thing was good for him... Heck, he just ran around like a crazy kid more so than playing on the bouncers! And he also "joined" another family a couple times at their picnic table. I guess I dont feed him enough? LOL

~ We drove "back home" to celebrate Independence day. I actually get kinda annoyed when people call it "July 4th" or "the 4th of July".... Everyone all over the world has a July 4th, but not everyone can call a day their Independence Day. And being Army, it just means a little more! :) Anyway. We have had a fun-filled few days with family and friends. We watched fireworks at my brother's house for their 11th annual cookout on Independence day, and what a fun time we had! A few highlights were:
J sweated like crazy. He had sweat rolling down his little boy face!
He tore up some watermelon!!! He loves the stuff! haha
J also LOVED the fireworks. He sat in his stroller and said boom the whole time!! I am so glad he wasnt scared of them. We live quite close to our base and we frequently hear (and feel!) artillery going off, so I'm thinking he is just used to "booms!" LOL (and yes, he is eating MORE watermelon! haha)

~ I decided, after seeing a friend post, to take some pictures of J out in the yard on Independence day and be our very patriotic selves. So, here's a few of those... (I did some editing in Picasa by Google. I like that software, especially since I am no photographer... Just a mamarazzi with a DSLR! LOL)
I told J that we were going to take some pictures and he sat down! LOL

A boy and his flags... :)

My husband actually commented on this picture on my FB page and I was shocked! It's the first one he's commented on since he's been deployed!

Got my hands in my pockets......

~ We were planning to go to the Atlanta Zoo today, but decided since it would be 100* outside, and it's a 3 hour drive, and the air quality was gonna be yucky, that maybe we'll wait and go in the early fall.... So, instead we went to Kids Sense, which is a children's museum about 20 minutes from "home". We had a fun time playing! And the air conditioning was nice too! LOL
He loved the big magnet!

~ And lastly, we are staying with my parents this week and this is the first time. I didnt bring a booster seat for J to sit in for meals.... However, my mom still has, at her house, her highchair from when she was a baby! On our first day here, Josiah got to eat Granny's spaghetti in the chair! (and a few other meals since our first day visiting!)

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and takes every day one day at a time, and make some fun memories!!! :) Until next week (I'm gonna try for 3 in a row!!)

Friday Fragments, for real??

Friday Fragments? What?? I havent fragmented in probably 2 years, but it's about time I do! Please join me and the fun with Mrs. 4444 :)

** So, it's been awhile, but I wont catch everyone up here. However I do have a 20 month old now, and there's never a dull moment at this house! EVER! We had been playing outside, so that's why he is bright RED! One of our 2 days to play outside, because it's supposed to be 104* tomorrow, 106* Saturday! What in the world? LOL This is crazy hot for Eastern NC!

** We got a fish this week (Thursday)! I wish my sweet Bug was big enough to name him. I'm thinking about Sherman, but I'm wanting the husband's approval first, so I'll update next week!

** My husband has been "in the sandbox" for 100 days as of yesterday (Thursday). The past 100 days have flown by and I pray that the next 100 fly as well! And hopefully it wont be a full 100 before he is HOME!!! :)
Day 0
Day 100
(I tried to get the lettering on the pic and Powerpoint wasnt cooperating! GRRR)

** Speaking of 100 days, I have been posting a picture a day of Bug on my Facebook. It's nice to hear my fellow Army wives say that they too look forward to seeing his picture of the day and to see what shenanigans he's into! haha And I know my husband enjoys seeing the Bugger!!

** This is the last week to send a box to my DH!! To those of you who dont really know what that means, it usually means that they will start packing up to come home within the next two months, once they cut mail off!!! YAY!

** I went to the dentist Monday to have a regular cleaning. While there, they were looking at my xrays from the last time I was there and they said I should go ahead and get my wisdom teeth out. :( I am SO not looking forward to this! July 16th is the day. I only have two to get taken out, both on the left side, so I guess that's a good thing? My bestie (http://pearsonpress.blogspot.com/) is going to come take care of me. I love her! She is so sweet to drive 3.5 hours and bring 2 (maybe all 3) of her kids along! LOL It'll be a full house!

** I dont have a lot to fragment about. Sad, but true. I am looking forward to next week though and hopefully I'll have more fragments! I will be visiting family and celebrating Independence Day with them! My brother always puts on a crazy good fireworks show! And we might even try and go to the Atlanta zoo next week and I may have visitors next weekend! Surely I'll have more fragments then! haha

** Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully I didnt bore anyone to tears!

Until next week, always remember to take one day at a time!
