So, since we've moved to Texas, I've noticed things that SC does/doesnt have that TX doesnt/does have. Let me elaborate.

Sidewalks. Where we live now, there are sidewalks on EVERY street. Back in SC, theres on sidewalks in the city limits, pretty much. The neighborhoods here are quite large, or the ones I've been in, but still. Lots of sidewalks. I love that about TX.

Gutters. The majority of houses here dont have gutters. That's strange to me. I guess though, it doesnt rain quite as much here as it does back home. So gutters would be kinda pointless. BUT, when it does rain, it downpours, and we have a waterfall DIRECTLY in front of our front door. Sucks to be the one parking out of the garage on those days. (usually kyle)

Packed out restaurants. Apparently, nobody cooks at home around here. EVERYDAY of the week, all the local restaurants are packed! We try to go on like Tuesdays or Wednesdays... and we still wait.

Mulch. In SC, most yards are landscaped with mulch. In TX, most yards have rocks. In SC, there are mulch mounds all over so that you can buy it in bulk. Here, you have to buy the little bags from Lowes.

Access roads. Kinda like a frontage road in SC. I dont know, its just different. If you miss an exit it seems like forever before you can get turned around to go back.

TX shaped stones. Texans are proud. For instance, my friend Jamie has a Texas shaped stone, with her house number on it. And she has Texas shaped stones in her flower bed.

Recycling service. Here in Killeen, we have a curbside recycling service. As far as I know in SC, there's trash service, but no recycling services. I like the recycling service. I guess that comes with population too.

Tall trees. I miss tall trees. I miss big ole oak trees, and magnolia trees. and pine trees. Trees dont grow any taller than a 2 story building, if that.

For now, that's all I can think of. The longer we're here, I'm sure more things will be brought to my attention.

Jamie, I blogged! Arent you proud? ;) MIss you!!

Until another day................

Forever...

So, I never blog. I dont even know if people read these, or if I have it set for people to read! Either way, its been a long while. 3.5 months actually. We are officially in Texas now. Kyle has started work and I'm currently looking for a job. Rigsby has had a rough couple months. He broke his leg and had two surgeries to fix it! To be a free dog, he definitely has been anything but free in the last 3 months! Now he is healing pretty good, with his steel plate in his leg. We stayed with our friend Jamie and her kiddos for the first week or so that we were here. Then we found are little house. :) Its nice, except for the street noise. But, not too bad. We are trying to get our house rented back home in SC. Hopefully we will have some luck with that really soon! A mortgage and rent is proving to be NO FUN!! ;) We have been to Austin and a couple nature trails around. Pretty fun so far :) Hopefully I'll continue this! LOL

Haha... Jamie, no, I never blog. But I just read yours, so I thought I'd do this for you ;)
I havent blogged since November 11th, last year... so, 2 months later...
Kyle is HOME! He arrived December 10th and we have very much enjoyed having him back! Rigsby has warmed up to him quite a bit and I think he likes Kyle better. Oh well. :) Kyle has been "on leave" for about 3 weeks now, and all we've done is eat, sleep and drive to eat. We had a great Christmas and New Year celebrations. ALOT of visiting and eating! We are starting to really get excited about moving to TX. I'm very anxious to get out there and find a place to live! I just helped my friend Jamie drive to SC from TX a few weeks ago, and we are headed back in a couple weeks. Hopefully Kyle can join us for the trip back and we'll get to look at houses/apartments. Lots of stuff going on.
Beginning next week, Kyle and I will be making the trip back and forth from SC to GA. He is still "stationed" in GA, and I dont really have anything keeping me in SC, so GA here we come! We'll be there during the week and home on the weekends. It will be alot of driving, but I cant just stay home while he's in GA. Especially since he's been gone for 14 months! :)
Jamie, I will try to do better, but I think we both know it probably wont happen! hahahaha

i suck at this LOL

I really suck at staying on this blogging stuff.... i feel like life is so boring, so why tell the world about it! LOL.

I subbed at the local elementary school today. this is only the second time i've subbed EVER. it went well. especially since i subbed for my sister-in-law's 4th grade class. HA, everyone was present today, all 23 of them! it was an interesting day. they were chatterboxes! and tattletales, but what child isnt... I'm still unsure if teaching is REALLY what i want to do. today, i didnt really teach them... i just babysat. LOL. hopefully i can figure this out SOON!

i dont have much longer until my hubby returns from his 13 month adventure. ;) about 3.5 weeks, maybe 4... CANNOT WAIT!!! Hopefully we can go on a short vacay to Gatlinburg or somewhere. or maybe even up to Boston! that would be fun! :) maybe even go skiing...

what else what else...

we still dont know what we are going to do about the house here in SC. i'm sure the Lord will provide and we'll figure it out, but waiting to see what happens is no fun.... we have to have faith though.

My nephew turned one last week! he is the love of my life and i dont know what i'd do without him. he's such a ham! he's been sick the last couple days (hints why i substituted for my sis-in-law) but is feeling better today. :)

Rigs had a haircut last week... and he turned one too!! ;)
i guess thats all for now.

lots going on...

so, alot has been happening in the lives of us recently! my sweet hubby should be home in approximately 10 weeks! i am beside myself with excitement! we also came down on orders. for those who dont know what that means, we got a new assignment. we had two choices... either get out of the army all together, or re-enlist for a few more years and go to FORT HOOD, TEXAS!!!! so, come march 2009, me, hubby and rigsby will make the 16 hour trek from SC to fort hood texas! there, we will find some dear friends to us who have been at hood for a little while now (yes, i'm talking about you now! lol). i am actually flying out to see said friends in early october to visit. a visit that was planned before knowing we were getting stationed there.... what a way for God to tell us where we need to be going, right!? :) we are super excited, however i'm heartbroken at the same time. i do not want to leave my nephew and niece. they have been my LIFE for the last 11 months. :) i have told my brother and sister that i'm buying them both webcams for Christmas!! :) we also have a house here in SC. we dont know whether to rent or sell it. renting might be easier, but more of a headache. selling, if we can find a buyer, will be less stress b/c we wont have to worry about fixing anything if it breaks! we will figure it all out i'm sure. i'm thinking i need a new name for my blog... just me just isnt me. lol. i'm simple, however complex. :) any suggestions? (to my probably only one person that reads this! haha). another thing i'm unsure about is school. i'm currently attending Upstate, however, i wont be going in the spring b/c we're moving. there's not many NCATE schools near Hood. i really need to figure out if teaching is my niche, or not... :) lots of decisions, lots going on..... (haha, the pic of me and the big army guy is from the fair... i couldnt resist getting my picture made with him!)

up and running...

here's a new picture. one of the many i have to make up for losing on my dead harddrive... i like it. i was on my knees, butt in the air, all awkward looking, to get this picture. lol. but i think it was worth it. i feel silly most times that i blog. i never know what to say or who to say it to... i'm not even sure my blog is set for anyone else to read except for who i tell about it... oh well. this daisy is one of the only red ones that has come back in our yard. all the others died. we have green leaves but no flowers... i do not have a green thumb. however, jamie, you should know that the bamboo is still alive. :) here's another shot of the same flower... i thought it was cool too.
school is going good. i need to make sure i blog after my first few tests though. i may have different thoughts about school then. ;) i've been missing my honey alot lately. he's safe and bored, which is good. :) but it makes the time pass by alot slower for him. i havent worked in the past three weeks. the bank account is suffering. haha, not really though. it was fun for a minute, but now i'm back to my blah thinking of "eh, do i HAVE to have a job? nah". maybe i should look for something else to do...

Hard Drive Crashed!

Its been awhile since I posted. My hard drive crashed completely and it really sucks. I'm debating on whether or not to get it recovered, which will cost me between $300-500.... what to do? I had over 5500 pictures and lots of documents on there. (sigh)

I have been working at my waitressing job for over a month now. Only on the weekends. Its fun. The money is fabulous. =) I did find out that I will only be working on Saturday nights though. That's fine though. I dont need the money like some of the others do. =)

Rigsby had a haircut the other day. I'm not even sure if I've posted about Rigs. He's my yorkie, my baby. =)
